This page explains the cookies and similar storage used on autodetailingdevelopment.com, what each one is for, and how to switch off the ones that are optional. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

The short version

The site itself does not need cookies. Every free tool works with all optional cookies switched off. The only non-essential cookies come from Google AdSense, the advertising that pays for the tools being free. You can reject those and nothing on the site stops working — you will just see less relevant ads.

What we use, and why

1. Strictly necessary — always on

These are needed for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They are set by us and stored on your own device, not sent to any server.

• add_consent_v1 — remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked on every page. Stored in your browser's local storage, kept until you clear it.
• Tool data (local storage): keys beginning add_ — for example add_mileage_log_v1, add_commission_v1, add_panel_tracker_v1, add_detailing_course_v1. These hold what you type into a calculator, tracker or the Detailing School so your work survives a refresh. This data never leaves your device — we cannot see it, recover it or restore it. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently.
• add_lead_email — if you enter your email to download a free guide, it is remembered so you do not have to type it again for the next download.

2. Analytics — cookieless

• Vercel Web Analytics — tells us which pages get visited and roughly where visitors come from, so we know which tools to build next. It is privacy-friendly by design: it sets no cookies, does not track you between sites, and does not build a profile of you. Vercel's privacy documentation.

3. Advertising — optional, your choice

• Google AdSense — serves the ads on this site. Google and its partners may set cookies on your device (for example __gads, __gpi, IDE, test_cookie) to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure whether an ad worked. Depending on your settings and your region, these may be used for personalised advertising.

We do not set advertising cookies of our own, and we do not run any other ad network, retargeting pixel or social media tracker. There is no Facebook pixel, no TikTok pixel and no Google Analytics on this site.

Affiliate links

Links in our Shop go to Amazon. Clicking one takes you to Amazon's own site, where Amazon's cookies and privacy policy apply, not ours. Amazon typically sets a cookie so a purchase can be attributed to us. That happens on their site, after you leave ours — we do not set it, and we never receive your name, address or payment details from a purchase.

How to control cookies

• On this site: use cookie settings to accept or reject non-essential cookies at any time. Your choice is saved on your device and applied immediately.
• Google ad settings: control personalised advertising across all Google products at adssettings.google.com.
• Industry opt-outs: YourAdChoices (DAA), NAI, or Your Online Choices in Europe.
• In your browser: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking all cookies may break features on other websites, though not on this one.
• Global Privacy Control: we honour the GPC signal where your browser sends one, and treat it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

Advertising cookies are only set there with your consent, collected through Google's certified consent message. Until you consent, Google's tags are told to withhold advertising and analytics storage. You can change your answer at any time through that message or through your browser settings.

If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law

Showing personalised ads can count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Rejecting non-essential cookies here, or sending a Global Privacy Control signal, is treated as your opt-out. We do not sell personal information for money. See Your US privacy rights.
