Plain English, no lawyer-speak: this page says how we make money, and what our free tools and guides are and are not. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
Our Shop pages contain affiliate links, mostly to Amazon. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra — the price is identical whether you use our link or go to Amazon directly.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
This disclosure is also repeated at the top of every Shop page, above the products, so you see it before you click anything — which is how the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides say it should be done.
We list gear on its merits and on what a working detailer actually needs at that step of the process, not on what pays the highest commission. Where a product has a real drawback we say so on the product card — a drying blade that will mark paint if the surface is not spotless gets that written next to it, commission or no commission. Nobody pays us to be included, and no manufacturer has any say in what appears here or how it is described.
That said, be a grown-up about it: we earn when you buy, so read the product's own reviews and specifications on the retailer's site before you spend money.
We do not sell, stock, ship, warrant or support any product in the Shop. Your purchase is a contract between you and the retailer. Prices, availability, specifications and shipping shown on their site are theirs and change without notice. Returns, warranty claims, damage in transit and product defects are between you and the retailer or the manufacturer. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from a product you buy through a link here, including damage to a vehicle you work on.
This site displays ads through Google AdSense. Advertisers do not influence our content, and an ad appearing next to an article is not an endorsement by us of whatever it is selling. Our Cookie Policy explains the cookies involved and how to switch off personalised advertising.
Our calculators, generators, trackers, templates and the Detailing School are general business aids for detailing shops. They are not legal, tax, accounting, insurance, employment, environmental or occupational-safety advice, and using them creates no professional relationship.
Be especially careful with these:
Everything the tools produce is generated in your browser from your own inputs. Check it before you send it to a customer, a regulator or the tax office. The responsibility for what you use is yours.
Any number, example, package outcome or scenario described anywhere on this site — in a blog post, on a service page, in a calculator, or in a marketing package description — is illustrative. It is not a promise, a projection or a typical result.
What a detailing business earns depends on its market, competition, pricing, capacity, service quality, reviews, season and how much work the owner puts in. Marketing results additionally depend on search engines and social platforms whose rules change without notice and which nobody controls. We do not guarantee rankings, followers, leads, bookings or revenue.
Where a client comment or example appears on this site, it reflects that person's individual experience. Individual results vary and are not typical. Any example that is illustrative rather than from a named client is labelled as such.
We link to other websites — software vendors, regulators, retailers, industry resources — because they are useful. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the other site.
We try to keep the content correct and up to date, and we correct mistakes when we find them. Even so, rules, prices, products, platform features and best practices change, and content that was accurate when written may not be by the time you read it. Nothing here is warranted to be complete, current or fit for your specific situation. If something looks wrong, tell us using the Report a problem button under any tool.
