Pre-soaks, iron removers, clay, compounds, and coatings for flawless paint.
The pre-wash is everything you do before anything touches the paint. Foam or soak the car, let it dwell, and rinse. The less grit still sitting there when the mitt goes on, the fewer swirl marks you put in.
A dedicated foam-cannon soap for the pre-wash. This is the step that decides how many swirls you put in: thick foam softens and lifts the road film so your wash mitt has far less grit to drag across the clear coat. Pair it with a foam cannon from Wash & Prep — the two only work together.
The contact wash is where swirls are actually made. Two buckets, a clean mitt and working top-down keep grit away from the paint — the method matters far more than which soap you buy.
A rinseless wash: dilute it in a bucket, wipe a panel with a soaked microfiber, dry it immediately with a second towel, and move on. No hose, no runoff, no pressure washer. For a mobile detailer that is the difference between taking a job in an underground car park and turning it down, and for maintenance washes on an already-protected car it saves the whole foam-and-rinse routine.
It is not a replacement for a proper foam and contact wash on a filthy car — heavy grit still needs rinsing off first, or you are dragging it across the paint.
Washing lifts what is loose. What is bonded to the paint — brake dust, tar, overspray — is still there afterwards. Decontamination shears it off, so the surface is smooth enough to polish without grinding grit into the clear coat.
Does the job of a clay bar over a whole car in a fraction of the time, and it survives being dropped — a clay bar that hits the floor goes in the bin. Use it after the iron remover, with plenty of lube, until the paint feels like glass through a thin bag. That is the standard to hit before a machine pad ever touches the panel, because polishing over bonded contamination just grinds it into the clear coat.
We add these as we test them, so the list stays gear we would actually use rather than whatever pays best.
The best kit in the world does not help if the customer booked elsewhere while you were using it. We set up missed-call text-back for your shop, so anyone you cannot answer gets a text within seconds instead of a voicemail they will never leave.
